Ideal case for non-pro use! - This case is a bit pricey, but it is very well made, camera fits perfectly and it s light weight and convenient.The soft refers to the leather finish and not the firmness of the case, had I not read the previous reviews this may have been a shock from the description. There is no where to store additional batteries or SD cards, which suits me perfectly as I am just a point-and-shoot kinda girl and I didn t want a bulky case designed for the extras I don t need.

Just right for my Ixus 950 IS - Great quality camera case, very neat and stylish. My Camera fits in nice and snug without any gaps. The sturdy edges protect my camera really well and Amazon s price is very good, the cheapest anywhere.

Do not use with Canon Ixus 860is ! - I bought this case with my Canon 850is last year. After that camera was lost I ve been using it with my Canon Ixus 860is.The case is slim, comfortable in the pocket, and fits the camera well. I don t like the design of the end panel with its slot for the camera lanyard - because this rapidly gets deformed.However, the soft sides of the leather case make it very easy to accidentally press the power button on the Canon 860is, whether the case is closed or even while trying to get the camera out of the case. When the power button is depressed the lens tries to deploy but can t if the camera is still (even partly) in the case.Because of this problem, my Ixus 860is lasted only 5 weeks before the lens assembly packed in. After repair, it broke again after only two weeks (despite us treating the camera with caution), because the power button was accidentally pressed while in the DCC-70 case.Note this problem did not occur with the 850is becaused it has a more recessed power button.

Canon DCC-70 case for the IXUS 950 IS - Though this case is billed as soft , it is in fact reasonably firm and not what I expected at all. The surface leather is soft, but there is enough support in its structure to take a reasonably hard blow. This was very welcome as I wanted something both firm and leather, rather than padded nylon.There is a slot for a belt to go through at the back and the cover fastens at the front with a very strong magnetic clip. The camera fits perfectly into this case and it even stands up nicely and safely on the cases base. There is a gap at the side for the cameras wrist cord to go through, so obvioulsy it s not perfectly water proof.I would say it s a little bulky to fit into the pocket, which with the cases s soft description I had expected, but it does leave the camera well protected and is very attractive and expensive looking. It probably offers as much, if not more protection from blows as the Samsonite versions. It would fit on a belt under a T-shirt easily, thought not really in the pockets of summer wear shorts and things, without leaving a fair bulge. All in all, I would thoroughly recommend it, but don t expect a very thin, soft leather pouch. It is much more rigid than that. It is much better than I had expected, the bulk still being vastly less than my Canon SLR, EOS 650 in its leather case. Amazon was, as always cheap and reliable.

Perfect for canon ixus 950 IS - After reading various reviews to find the perfect case for my canon ixus 950, I decided to go for this one. Although its not actually stated in the title of this product, this case IS suitable for the 950IS, and says so on the packaging of this case.I think this is a lovely fit for my camera - not too tight (like some) and not too loose either. Its good quality leather, lightly padded, and I think the purse style is quite cute (my opinion anyway).5 stars....because I m very happy with this product and glad I chose this one for my canon ixus 950IS!!!
